How Robots are used in the Agricultural sector?

In this Article, we elaborate on the utilization and role of Robots in the Agricultural Sector by considering the global demand for Food and Crops. In these days, the Agricultural sector is looking forward to increasing crop production and reducing the wastage of time and resources, so they prefer to use Smart Agricultural Activities for enhancing crop production in order to compete with the food risk and hunger due to more population globally and for saving the water and other natural resources.

Introduction of an Agricultural Robotics:

For the replacement of human tasks and precision farming operations, many Robotic devices are developed in the Agricultural sector that make all kinds of Agricultural operations simple, fast, and efficient by taking over all farmer's duties in this sector. In the replacement of many conventional and traditional machinery and methods, many robotics advancements occurred in the sector at the global level. For the improvement of production and sustainability of the environment, many Mobile robotics are introduced in the Agricultural sector
There are two main types of robotics covered in this Article that utilize in the Agricultural sector.
  1.   Self-Propelled Mobile Robots.
  2.   Robotic Smart Implements.

Self-Propelled Mobile Robots:

Through the introduction of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), Global Positioning System (GPS), and other Navigation and Auto-Guided Systems conventional self-propelled machines such as Tractors, Combine Harvesters, and Sprayers have been robotized over the span of the last ten years. These machines can drive automatically in parallel rows inside the field and turn autonomously at the head of the field for entering the other row and coordinate their tasks while a human person can supervise all of its activities. There are larger robots introduced for arable-farming-related operations such as plowing, seedling, spraying, fertilizing, harvesting, and all other agricultural operation.

Robotic Smart Implements:

Here, will be discussed smart robotic implemented methods that are carried out by vehicles, developed for various commercial and precommercial applications such as transplanting, lettuce thinning and mechanical weeding, etc. At the pre-commercial level, these Robotic Smart Implements are used in Orchard for fruit harvesting. These implements are all used in Vineyards for Vine Pruning. Some Utilization of these methods in the field is the flower and green thinning to reduce the crop load.

Benefits of Robotic Applications in the Agricultural Sector:

  1. It enhances Agricultural Crops Productions.
  2. It saves natural resources.
  3. It reduces the labor cost.
  4. It is more efficient and simple.
  5. It performs all activities smartly and fastly.
  6. It is more sustainable than conventional methods.
  7. It produces more efficient and effective work.
